Keep Your Smile Whole with Our Root Canal Treatment

You've never heard of stress-free root canals? You'll find them at Skyview Dental. We use modern technology, powerful anesthetics, and sedation dentistry to make your root canal easier and efficient.

Benefits of Root Canals:

  • Saves your tooth to prevent an extraction
  • Relieves you of your dental pain
  • Improves your oral health and protects healthy teeth
  • Protects you from widespread tooth and bone loss

Understanding these benefits and dismissing the rumors you've heard about root canals helps you take the right step toward saving your smile. If you're in pain, call (509) 707-8696. We can usually see you right away if you need urgent care.

Enjoy Gentle Treatment While Protecting Your Oral Health

When the inside part of your tooth becomes infected from bacteria or damage, the only way to treat it is with a root canal. Before we begin your treatment, we'll numb the tooth so you don't feel a thing. We can also offer laughing gas so you relax and remain comfortable during your appointment.

Here is how the rest of the procedure will work:

  • We'll remove the infection from your tooth with our leading-edge rotary endodontic equipment. This means you spend less time in the chair!
  • Once complete, Dr. Despain will fill the space with a biocompatible material to prevent reinfection.
  • He'll then seal the tooth with a temporary filling so it has the chance to heal.

In some cases, at the same visit Dr. Despain can place a dental crown using our CEREC® system, which crafts, designs, and fabricates your new crown. However, most of the time your mouth needs time to heal. You'll return in about two weeks for your restoration.

Recognize Signs You May Need a Root Canal

The most well-known symptom of a tooth infection is pain that keeps getting worse. However, you may also notice other symptoms. If you recognize any of these signs, call our dental office ASAP. If you wait too long, we may not be able to save your tooth with a root canal and it will have to be removed.

Symptoms of an Infected Tooth

  • Jaw pain and swelling
  • Red, puffy, or swollen gums
  • Extreme tooth sensitivity
  • A "pimple" or bump on your gums
  • A bad taste or odor in your mouth
